NP3 is a four-year college preparatory charter high school located in the Natomas area of Sacramento, California. NP3 is the work of the P20 Consortium of local educators and institutions of higher education, including the University of the Pacific-Benerd College and McGeorge School of Law, in collaboration with Natomas Unified School District (NUSD). Since opening in 2006 with 80 high school students, NP3 has grown to include over 600 high school students. NP3 now spans grades K-12, all on one campus. NP3 Middle is a 6-8 program with just over 500 students and NP3 Elementary is K-5 and has an enrollment of 480 students. All three NP3 schools received a seven-year charter renewal by authorized NUSD in June, 2021.
The vision of NP3 is to inspire, cultivate, and support innovative educational excellence every day. NP3 graduates are college ready students who value diversity, intellectual engagement, and are dedicated to personal and civic responsibility. NP3 values relationships, diversity, service learning, high levels of learning, a collaborative culture, and student voice.
The student population at NP3 reflects the ethnic and cultural diversity of the Natomas Unified School District (NUSD) and Sacramento County. NP3 is committed to serving a diverse population, providing students with exemplary educational and co-curricular programs, and ensuring each student the opportunity to succeed.
NP3’s staff of experienced, credentialed faculty provide a range of Advanced Placement (AP) courses, dual enrollment college courses, specialized extra-curricular activities designed to prepare students for success in life, and a variety of social activities. Two-thirds of the faculty hold advanced degrees in education and the diversity among the staff continues to increase.
In the 2021-22 school year, the California Department of Education identified NP3 High School as a “California Distinguished School.” Currently all three NP3 Schools (High, Middle and Elementary) have been recognized as a California Distinguished School. The California Department of Education and the California State Supreme Court also honored NP3 High School with the “Civic Learning Award Distinction” and NP3 is consistently listed as one of “America’s Top High Schools” by U.S. News & World Report.
