American Lakes School

American Lakes School serves students in grades PreK-8. It is located four miles north of metropolitan Sacramento in a rapidly growing community of residential homes, modern business offices, and large apartment complexes. We are dedicated to providing a safe, inclusive, and culturally responsive environment. Our mission is to provide a rigorous educational experience for ALL scholars through the International Baccalaureate (candidate school) and STEM programs. We are dedicated to providing the tools necessary for scholars to reach their social, emotional, and academic potential and grow to become responsible, reflective risk-takers and life-long learners. American Lakes School is committed to being a safe, inclusive, and culturally responsive environment that plays a central role in closing the educational achievement gap by motivating scholars to take action and ownership of their learning as they develop the skills necessary to compete in a globally-minded society.

American Lakes School is equipped with a new and modern middle school wing that includes Five classrooms, a STEM lab, and an additional flex space is used for activities and clubs, along with a new gymnasium. In addition to the middle school wing, American Lakes also touts a 400-meter track and field, with a large outdoor PE area, a play structure, and a new blacktop area with multiple basketball courts.

In 2021, American Lakes School was recognized by the California PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports) for the outstanding contribution of support and care during the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic. Due to our efforts to provide support to all American Lake School's scholars, their families, and the community, we were awarded the 2021 California PBIS Community Cares Award. These supports include school-wide personal standards (the Eagle Way), Check in/Check out system, Second Step classroom curriculum that supports students' Social Emotional Learning needs.

American Lakes School is in its fifth year of implementing a Science, Technology, Engineer, and Mathematics (STEM) focus and, last year, became an authorized International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP) School.
